The golden rule is to do unto others as you would have them do unto you, or something like that. I have learned this is a horrible rule to follow if you’re weird like me. For instance, I am completely for real when I say I want people to be honest with me, tell me what they really think, etc. Yeah, others may say that, but they don’t mean it. If they meant it, they wouldn’t react the way they do when you are honest with them. The truth is people would rather be left in the dark…as long as they don’t ever find out that they are being left in the dark. We have white lies for a reason. It is unnecessary for someone to know everything and get their feelings hurt. I would rather know, but that’s just me, and everyone is different and should be treated so. Also, you wouldn’t treat people the way you wanted to be treated if you were a masochist, would you? No, because that would make you a sadist as well.
