Yesterday I spent the whole day in DC. It was my first time going to the Native American Museum (which my friend recommended because of the food. I was expecting it to be AMAZING, but it was alright. I mean, it was yummy but not to the point she made it out to be) and to an Ethiopian restaurant (that was also yummy…and very filling. Don’t let the spongy bread fool you!). I also went to Newseum, which I think is a total scam, and with all the monitors and people just buying into things, I felt it was one big brainwashing scam. It is so not worth $20.
I also had never been to the Capitol before, which is really sad because I was born in DC and grew up in Northern Virginia. I spent the day with someone from Arizona. Instead of me showing him around, he ended up navigating. He knew more about where everything was than I did! Then again, when I went to San Francisco last year, I felt like I knew more about that city after one day than I knew about DC after 25 years. I still know more about where things are in San Fran than I do in DC.
I really should go into the city more.
