I just watched the movie Milk. Amazing. Go see it.

The movie is about how Harvey Milk helped get California to vote against prop 6, which would have ousted people from their jobs based on sexuality. It just boggles my mind and heart that 30 years later we’re not only back to where we started but worse because prop 6 didn’t pass but prop 8 did. How? How is it that things haven’t improved but seemingly stood still or even gotten worse? Are we no longer on a cycle? Are we just spiraling down? If this is any indication of how things will be, then I’ll be glad for the end in 2012 because we’re getting ridiculous. Of course I don’t believe it is an indication. Sometimes things have to hit rock bottom before any real change will be made. I don’t know if prop 8 was rock bottom. Milk’s assassination wasn’t. What the fuck has to happen in order for change to happen?
