Oh, Boy

I had to get six of my friends to host a party with me in order to start my business. These are called intro shows. I only got five, but that was ok. Two of those were my best friends, both straight females. Two more were two lesbian friends. The fifth one is a gay male friend. From my first party I booked another party co-hosted by a straight female and a gay male. All of these people are around my age or slightly younger.

I was discussing the parties with my sponsor. The first one didn’t go so well in sales. I guesstimate half the guests were homosexual (and it was a large crowd, too). My sponsor (oh, man, that makes me sound like a child in need or something) said to me that it’s great to do the mixed parties once in a while but if I want my business to be successful, the majority of parties should be with straight females and more of the older ones because they are the big spenders when it comes to our products.

That makes sense of course because the company is directed towards straight females, and older persons have more disposable income (and tend to buy more because they aren’t really running out to their local sex shop like the younger crowds). Still though, my parties are obviously headed in the glbt direction, and I didn’t want to be discouraged from that, so I thought, I hope the young gay boys prove her wrong.

They did. They are fabulous.

  1. Haha, glad to hear that you’re doing well! I think it’d be awkward, anyway, doing a party with older women….
