Yesterday was my first time attending the gay pride parade, and it was a little disappointing for two reasons: a) it rained and b) it was mostly politicians.

I didn’t realize the gay pride parade was for politicians to hand out candy and beads to try to get the gay vote. For one thing, the majority of people there couldn’t even vote for them because they weren’t in their district or region or even state. Secondly, gay people who vote probably know who they are going to vote for without having to see someone walk by them amongst the naked dancing cowboys.

Still it was fun, and I’ll be going again next year…unless there’s a hurricane.
