I have never had to really care about how I dressed over the summer. Somehow whenever I had jobs in professional settings that required more grown-up attire, it was during colder months. For the first time I have a job during warmer months where I can’t just wear jeans and a t-shirt, especially concert t-shirts or shirts that say “Pisces” all over them. Most people start adding more business/business casual clothes to their wardrobe during college as they start getting internships and stuff. I, however, at the age of 25 still have the wardrobe of a 17 year old (though I should say younger because those high schoolers dress more like 30 year olds now). My boss was taken aback when she found out I don’t even own a suit. I own nice pants and nice skirts, but never have I ever owned a nice jacket or vest. During the winter months when I was temping in offices, I got away with wearing nice sweaters.
So earlier I set out on a mission to find some nicer warm weather clothes. I’m a big fan of dresses, so I was hoping to mainly get some of those.
Ok…I haven’t really been clothes shopping in the last two years, so during what was supposed to be my shopping extravaganza, I kept thinking, ‘What the hell happened here?’
Someone please tell me, why, when, and how did ugly come back in style?
Alright, I’m not the most stylish person. In fact I lack the ability to dress myself well, but I know ugly when I see it.
And somehow the junior’s department became the overgrown little girl’s department, and the women’s department became the middle aged crotchety school teacher department. What the hell happened here?
I came back home with a bunch of plain t-shirts, one nice button down shirt, and a pair of pants and shirt for my non-office job. All of it came from Old Navy. Basically, the whole experience was utterly disappointing. My wardrobe didn’t change. I still don’t have anything to wear. Gawd!
Haha this is pretty funny because I just took an inventory of my closet last night and realized that I have like 50 hoodies/t-shirts and approximately 20 things I can wear to work. Add up 5 days a week that I have to wear something professional, and I’ve worn my wardrobe pretty quickly. Let me know if you find some good deals.

I know, eh???
The most fashionable shops that line the streets around here have headache-inducing window dressings – um, the 80’s are OVER, and for a good reason people!
A potato sack is NOT becoming to any woman, no matter the sparkly Flashdance belt and clogs.
UGGHH!
